MAZDA ATLANTIC DRIVER SEMONA DE SILVESTRO TO JOIN HOOVERSPEED IN UTAH

(09.10.07) Sacramento, Calif. : Hooverspeed Motorsports announced today that Mazda Atlantic star Simona De Silvestro will be joining the team for the final SCCA Pro Racing SIRIUS Satellite Radio Mazda MX-5 Cup race at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. “We are excited to have such a talented young driver joining us for the last race of the season. It is such a privilege to work with Mazda and Simona,” stated team Manager Tony Silva.

De Silvestro was born in Thun, Switzerland in 1988. She has been racing since she was 10 years old. During the 2006 season she competed in the Formula BMW series and has the proud distinction of being the first woman to ever podium at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. She signed on with Walker Racing last year and has been competing this season in the Cooper Tires Presents the Champ Car Atlantic Series Powered by Mazda.

Hooverspeed Motorsports in its rookie year in the SCCA Pro Racing SIRIUS Satellite Radio Mazda MX-5 Cup has continually placed cars in the top ten of almost every race this season. Team Principle Jason Hoover stated that he is proud of his team and what they have been able to accomplish this year.
